Why study a trade course?

Studying the right trade or vocational course can greatly increase your chances of receiving Work Visas to Australia.

But migration can be very difficult to understand. There are so many different types of visas and so much information out there, which can make it super challenging to know what is accurate for your circumstance.

Therefore we’ve created a booklet for you that explains a pathway that has been tried and tested. Pathway to Aus has had many of its students successfully go down this path to achieve Permanent Residency.

Carpentry

This is a very large occupation with around 69,000 job openings expected over the next five years. In this course, you’ll learn how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will work with a range of tools, equipment and materials to construct frames for walls and ceilings, construct pitched and advanced roofs and eaves, and erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on the ground.

Automotive Mechanic

Kick start your mechanical career with this trade-level qualification that will get you working in the automotive industry sooner. According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, demand for qualified mechanics grew strongly over the past five years with around 23,000 job openings expected over the next five years.

Commercial Cookery

According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, the number of people working as chefs grew very strongly over the past five years and is expected to continue to grow in the future. This very large occupation is predicted to create around 81,000 job openings over the next five years.

You will gain hands on culinary experience in the preparation of appetisers, salads, stocks, sauces, soups, seafood, meat, poultry, breads, pastries and cakes.

Tiling

According the the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, wall and floor tilers are currently a skill in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. There’s likely to be around 9,000 job openings in this occupation over the next five years with employers looking for people who are reliable, hardworking, and work well in a team.

Painting and Decoration

This very large occupation is expected to create around 19,000 job openings over the next five years with employers looking for people who are reliable, hard working, and work well in a team.

In a range of domestic and commercial settings, you’ll learn how to prepare surfaces and apply paint, wallpaper and other coatings to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces. Learn a range of skills including how to handle painting and decorating tools, equipment and materials and match paint colours.

Civil Engineering

This large occupation is expected is create around 30,000 jobs over the next five years.

In this course you’ll learn specialised skills for pipe laying. You’ll apply occupational health and safety standards to safely plan for, organise and carry out works on a construction site.
